Mondays are for the Links

Orphan Care Sunday was this past Sunday, here is a good interview with an old prof of mine, Russell Moore.

Here is Noel Piper, wife of John Piper, telling their own story of adoption, (follow the story through her links).

Adopting every waiting child in America is doable, just by the church alone!

A primer to pentecostal worship, yes this is funny, if we can’t laugh at each other then we’ve got bigger trouble…

I have not linked to my wife’s blog since I started this little feature, but she is doing a really great job over at Motherhood Outloud, meeting lots of new folks, many of which are dong some wonderful things in this world.  I’m very proud of her.  Actually her sight cleared over 350 unique visitors in one day.  Her post about the blessings of small children is rockin in the mommy blog world. Ok, done boasting!

Other IK’ers that blog include Jessica Sykes, you can find her at White All Over as she is updating her site. Are there others of you who secretly blog?

A great day to be a Georgia Tech Football Fan, one more win on Saturday and Tech plays for the ACC Championship and trip to a BCS bowl.  Go Jackets!

In case you missed it, Reformation Day (Oct.31) is a great reminder of where we came from and what it’s really all about…

Love this blog, glad it’s back, great re-start with 3 Truths That Change Your Life

I unfortunately never read Francis Schaeffer‘s works until I went to seminary.  Once I did read, I was blown away by him. His intellect and honesty is so captivating. His expressions of Christian community challenged every idea I had of “community” up to that point.  This biography and review of it looks like a great introduction into the man, and once you learn about the man, don’t stop there, keep reading his works, The Trilogy is the essential works as it contains 3 of his books into 1.

I often spend much time thinking of better ways to administer biblical care and love through Grace to the Nations. I’m putting together a paper of sorts on some ideas regarding “creating dependency in ministry” and I’m exploring ideas for implementing a new strategy called “microfinancing.” I would love to adapt this strategy for local care.  Interested in helping me develop this?

I promise I don’t get a kickback, but the ESV Study Bible is rad.  Here’s some more reasons why.

For all you Georgia Tech Football fans, don’t forget to check the latest Jolly Good Fellows.

Looking forward to this documentary, Collision, about a series of debates regarding Christianity between atheist Christopher Hitchens and pastor Doug Wilson. Here is John Piper interviewing Wilson regarding the documentary.

In case you live under a rock and don’t know, there is an orphan crisis in our world, Christians have a responsibility. Furthermore how Many Christians would it take to adopt every orphan? On that note, I love this idea for using the church’s money ,  sure beats another hot dog fellowship.  If you’re not adopting, what are you doing to serve orphans?

30 years ago, God called John Piper from the professorship to the pastorate, I and thousands of others rejoice at this call and ministry.  I make no apology for my love of Piper’s ministry, God has used him to open my eyes and draw me to repentance many times over.

Tell your doctor to give you some drugs…???

I know there are crazies everywhere but Canton,GA has it’s far share of Bible-toting crazies.

A personal story about family and how Georgia Tech football is a part of that…

Still reading and re-reading Deep Church and encouraging others to do the same, here’s a video from the author about his book.
