Isaac’s Keep is now on Twitter!

imb-5stagesoftwitter-21A church built upon the idea that it should actually be a church should always be looking for ways to better communicate, relate, and connect to people.  Therefore, Isaac’s Keep is now twittering.  Perhaps you to should CONSIDER Twitter.

Now I know for some the computer and technology isn’t necessarily “your thing,” I understand, a little bit.  If email is your limit to communication on a computer, then twitter is probably not for you.  But after about 4 months of twittering I have found it very useful for keeping up and connecting with friends and other interests. It also helps me to pray specifically for those who are facing the routine and not so routine things we all face in life. This is partly why I think it could be a great tool for a church like Isaac’s Keep, that is built upon relationships. It would help us stay connected daily and we wouldn’t have to wait or rely solely on Thursday night prayer time to find out what’s up, as we fight back little ones who are ready for bed.

It really is a tool for communication and thus community.  I have found new friendships, renewed old ones, and even ministered through twittering.  I wasn’t sold at first, I didn’t really get it, but now I do.  I now personally prefer it over Facebook, it’s much more simple and efficient  Furthermore, you can use most media phones to do it, IPhones are perfect and those seem popular at IK. So give it a thought, I promise it isn’t really hard and you don’t even have to log on your computer to use it, if you have a media phone.

Before I receive replies to the contrary, I know the dangers of all communication and the narcissism that facebook and twitter can feed, all tools of communication are open for abuse and mis-communication, but I hope you would see it as another tool for developing and maintaining relationships.
