Foundational Values

Core Values:

The Word of God: A passion for the book that is tried, true, perfect, relevant and the foundation for all.
Biblical Theology: A concern to know the God of the Word.
Expository Preaching: Preaching that expounds the Word, explaining the meaning and applying it.
The Gospel: The heart of Christianity, the good news that transcends felt needs.
Discipleship: A concern to grow members over numbers.
Church Discipline: A concern for the pursuit of God among it members and accountability to it.

Core Principles:

Christian: Isaac’s Keep (IK) confesses historical Christianity of the Apostles and the Nicene Creed.

Evangelical:
IK is in agreement with the doctrinal statement of the National Association of Evangelicals.

Missional: IK seeks to be faithful to the content of biblical truth (Jude 3) and faithful to the changing context of culture (1Cor 9:19-23). Believing our mission is to bring people into the church so they can be trained to go out into their culture as effective missionaries. We seek to incarnate the gospel in real lives to the world.

Reformed:
IK embraces the monergistic view that the Holy Spirit is the only agent who effects regeneration of Christians. Monergism is a redemptive blessing purchased by Christ for those the Father has given Him (1 Pet 1:3, John 3:5,6, 6:37, 39). This grace works independently of any human cooperation and conveys that power into the fallen soul whereby the person who is to be saved is effectually enabled to respond to the gospel call (John 1:13; Acts 2:39, 13:48; Rom 9:16). It is that supernatural power of God alone whereby we are granted the spiritual ability to comply with the conditions of the covenant of grace; that is, to apprehend the Redeemer by a living faith, to come up to the terms of salvation, to repent of idols and to love God and the Mediator supremely.
