Core Principles

IK’s VISION is to construct a community of believers for whom God is the Audience of One. The MISSION of IK is not only to be redeemed but to proclaim the Gospel of Christ for the redemption of all things.  The CORE VALUES of IK are principles that drive how we live as a churchBIBLICAL INCARNATION: IK seeks a passion for the Word of God preached and applied under the authority of Christ. The church will grow spiritually and numerically by the proclamation of God’s Word (Acts 6:7, 12:24, 19:20). MISSIONAL MANIFESTATION: IK is a community of believers that seeks to manifest the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world by strengthening people in a Gospel-centered vision of God. As the sent people of God (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8) we gather to worship the God of the Bible to fuel the spreading of His kingdom where God in His sovereignty has placed us (Jude 3, Acts 13:36). LIFE  TOGETHER DISCIPLESHIP: We seek to strengthen the lives of fellow believers by teaching them to obey Jesus’ commandments (Matt. 28:19), which grows believers in holiness and prepares them for ministry. This is accomplished in the context of loving one another (John 13:34) and sharing life together (Acts 2:44-47). IK focuses on loving people, not programsPRIESTHOOD OF THE BODY: Each member of the Body of Isaac’s Keep is part of the church’s vision and mission of redemption (1 Peter 2:9), and therefore has a vital ministry within the body that must be carried out in order for the body to function properly (1 Cor. 12:12). The primary role of church leadership (pastor/elders) is to equip believers to carry out their mission of God in the world (2 Timothy 4:1-2).  SERVANT LIFESTYLE:IK is a community of believers that will live sacrificially in order to consistently give to the kingdom of God and those in need. The body will intentionally live below their means for the purpose of spreading God’s plan of redemption. (Luke 16:13). COMPASSIONATE JUSTICE: As believers we are called to love others not based on impact but because Christ first loved us (Matt. 25:44-45). Members will seek to love their neighbor, work to set the oppressed free, bring good news to the poor, spend ourselves on behalf of the hungry and seek justice through compassion for all (Micah 6:8). Each member will love, not for extrinsic reward but because as a follower of Christ we have no other choice (1 Timothy 6:17-19). KINGDOM DEVELOPMENT: Realizing that we live within the world, we will work to redeem the world by relating to others through art, politics, organizational structures, media, technology, etc.  The Body and its members seek to develop a kingdom culture that doesn’t create an insulated subculture, but rather redeems existing culture for the glory of God.
